Topic:
Sport and technology can empower young people from deprived communities to confront socio-economic challenges. This presentation provides a theoretical overview of the field of Sport for Development, as well as local examples that apply and test the theoretical underpinnings.
Speaker:
Creesen Naiker holds an International Masters Degree in Sport Management, Law and Humanities from the International Centre for Sport Studies. He also holds a Masters degree in Organisational Psychology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, a Post-graduate Certificate in Results-Based Management from the University of Witwatersrand's Graduate School of Public and Development Management, and an Entrepreneurial and Leadership Certificate from the University of Texas at Austin. Naiker has previously been selected as one the Brightest Young Minds in South Africa, is a winner of the Alberto Madella Award, and is a Mandela Washington Fellow as part of the Young African Leaders Initiative.
