Survey: Cariology teaching at South African Dental Schools
Dear prospective participant
I trust this letter finds you well.
I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in the department of Prosthodontics at the University of the Western Cape, Faculty of Dentistry. The title of my study is “Cariology teaching at South African dental schools”.
I am inviting academic lecturing staff holding an academic position at UZKN School of Health Sciences who are involved in cariology teaching throughout the oral hygiene or dental therapy programmes offered at the school to participate in my study. The study aims to provide an overview of cariology teaching at South African dental schools and the teaching strategies used.
Your responses to the online questionnaire will provide valuable insights into current cariology teaching practices and curriculum approaches. The questionnaire should take approximately 10-12 minutes to complete. All responses will remain confidential and will only be used for research purposes. Participation is voluntary and informed consent will apply. Participants may withdraw at any time without any consequences. Furthermore, participants will be identified by their dental school only and no personal information is to be collected.
The relevant documentation is attached below:
- UWC Ethics clearance letter
