Do you need help with essay/assignment writing?  

The Westville Campus Writing Place assists students from the College of Law & Management Studies (1^st year – 3^rd year) with academic writing skills through an emphasis on essay/assignment structure & understanding of academic writing conventions. Our trained postgraduate tutors will work through a draft of your essay with you to help you with understanding the essay question & constructing a coherent argument. Tutors will also provide suggestions on how structure & grammar can be improved. Correct referencing techniques & the consequences of plagiarism are also explained. 

Where:  Tutors located on the lower ground floor, J Block, J012 – Writing Place Drop In Centre

 When:  Hours of operation during the semester are 09h00–16h00 (Monday-Friday, EXCLUDING mid-semester vacation)

 How:  Undergraduate students (1st – 3rd year) from the College should come in to the Writing Place to make a booking with one of our tutors for at least 4 days before an essay/assignment is due. Then take a typed, complete draft of the essay, the essay question, course guide & lecture notes to your appointment. If you have made a group booking then all group members must attend the appointment and the essay/assignment draft must be compiled with all group members’ sections included as one coherent document.
