The incumbent will provide general assistance to the staff and students within the school. S/he will be responsible for general housekeeping and cleanliness in the various Laboratories. This will include, but not limited to, washing glassware, cleaning of laboratories and equipment. The incumbent will also provide general assistance to staff and students with regard to projects and practicals. S/he will adhere to all Health and Safety requirements and ensure all staff, students and visitors do so as well. S/he will assist in inventory keeping and ensure all items are labelled correctly.

The incumbent will also fulfil any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as determined by management with regard to the operational needs of the section. S/he must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, ensuring those working in these spaces adhere to Health and Safety requirements.

 

The incumbent will report to the Chemical Technician - Chemical Engineering.

Minimum Requirements:

·     Matric / NTC 3

·     One year of relevant experience in a laboratory or similar environment.
