FIXED-TERM APPOINTMENT

HOWARD COLLEGE CAMPUS

The Centre for Extended Legal Studies (CELS) seeks to appoint a Programme Manager on a fixed-term contract (from 1 January 2026 until 31 December 2026 (incl.)) to manage the Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Relations (30 hours per month).

The incumbent must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, a thorough knowledge of the academic rules, policies, and procedures applicable to the programme concerned, and the ability to manage online teaching and learning efficiently, effectively, and creatively.

There may be adjustments to the nature of the relevant positions during the contract period as a result of re-organisation. Among their other duties, incumbents may be required to assist with the transition to the new structure.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• A Master’s degree in Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related forensic discipline;

• At least three (3) years’ teaching experience at University level in a relevant discipline/area of specialization;

• At least one (1) year experience with managing and organizing an academic programme in the UKZN School of Law, which must include experience with managing online programme delivery.
