A full-time, fixed-term opportunity is available to contribute to
research in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the UKZN Medical
School.
Research area: Paediatrics, HIV, TB
This fixed-term position will require the successful candidate to
engage with Prof Moherndran Archary’s research team in the Department of
Paediatrics and Child Health at the UKZN Medical School.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
·
Current registration with the South
African Nurses Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse
·
More than three years of
research-related experience
·
Experience in nursing care and
the use of medical equipment
·
Current GCP (Good Clinical
Practice) Certificate
·
Experience with HIV and TB
management
·
Experience in the
administration of Informed Consent
·
Fluency in English and isiZulu
KNOWLEDGE
AND SKILLS
·
Phlebotomy skills in infants
·
Experience in pediatric
research
·
Certification in HIV/AIDS
counselling
·
Experience working within the
DoH and public health setting
·
Computer Literate
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Clinical assessment, including
AEs and concomitant medication, where applicable
·
Performing all study activities
according to Good Clinical Practice standards
·
Performing other patient care
procedures as required
·
Performing rigorous collection
and labelling of all study-related samples
·
Assist the study clinician and
senior study nurse during the screening and enrollment visit, as well as all
subsequent visits.
·
Entering data on electronic and
paper case report forms and processing
·
Performing Quality Control (QC)
checks on CRFs and source documents
·
Responsible for updating the
Visit Scheduler
·
Ensure correct reimbursement
after each study visit as per the study protocol.
·
Maintaining and ordering stock
when required
·
Call clients who require a
follow-up health check, as identified during their clinic visit.
·
Carry out any other duties as
directed by the Principal Investigator.
