The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music proudly presents Twosday with Bongiwe “Ms Classic” Msomi on Tuesday 29 July 2025 at 17:30.

 

Ms Classic as she is fondly known, is no stranger to the Durban audiences. She

is a versatile singer equally at home in Opera (Playhouse Chorale, Soprano), Classical 

Music, Pop Music, Blues, Afro – Jazz and Gospel. The talented Durban artist Msomi smoothly sashays in and out of these various genres. Her accolades include being crowned the Winner for Jazz in the Art and Culture Award at UShaka Marine. She has performed in Sibaya Casino, Stable theatre, she has participated in A tribute show for late mom Busi Mhlongo at Bat centre and has also performed at the Playhouse theatre in different occasions.

 

In 2020, she released two singles “Never Give Up” and “Ndimufumakandzi (I am a woman)” that features a sweet mix of cultural crossover repertoire of Afro-Jazz with an influence of Maskandi
