HPP Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Professor Jaclyn Mann)

The HIV Pathogenesis Programme (HPP) is a multidisciplinary HIV pathogenesis research programme based at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Nelson Mandela School of Medicine in Durban. The HPP has been involved in studies of HIV-1 immunopathogenesis for over 15 years.

The HPP has a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position available. The incumbent will report to HPP researcher and Associate Professor, Professor Jaclyn Mann.

The incumbent’s areas of research will include:

Bioinformatics Analysis of HIV-Immune System Interactions:

Computational and bioinformatics analysis of immune escape in HIV sequences to generate information for contemporary immunogen design, immune-based prophylaxis and treatment.  Integration of next generation sequence data with structure-based models.
