The Centre for Jazz
and Popular Music is excited to present renowned pianist, producer, and UKZN
Jazz alumnus Siyanqoba Mthethwa on
Wednesday, 23 October 2024, at 17:30.
Originally from

of artists, including Ernie Smith, Swazi Dlamini, Tshepo Mngoma, Siphokazi,
Nokukhanya Dlamini, Judith Sephuma, Ntokozo Mbambo, Sibongile Khumalo, and

Following the
success of his debut album “Coming Out” (2022), Mthethwa’s sophomore project
“Inevitable” delves deeper into his unique fusion of gospel and jazz. “Inevitable”
explores the theme of overcoming life’s hurdles to reach one’s ultimate
purpose. This concert will showcase both his acclaimed works and some exciting
new material.
Siyanqoba’s
artistry shines through his innovative sound production. The new album features
a range of talented vocalists, including Dudu
Makhoba, Xolani Sithole, and Unathi Mzekeli and more. Joining Siyanqoba on stage will be Sbu
