Lex Futshane an internationally proclaimed electric bassist, composer, performs Wed, 24 April 24'

 

The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music proudly presents well loves bassist Lex Futshane on Wednesday 24 April 2024 at 17:30.

 

 

Lex Futshane is an internationally proclaimed electric and acoustic bassist, prolific composer, arranger, performer and educator spent many years in Durban performing, arranging music and lecturing in the music departments at the University of KwaZulu Natal and DIT (Natal Technikon) where he is also a graduate of the former.

 

He currently lectures the ensemble classes at Wits University. Lex will be playing music from his album Innocent Victims and Perpetrators with hits such as Iculo and uBhuti noHopa. “I came to UKZN to study music and stayed in Durban for 15 years, it is home” said Futshane.

 

 

Lex Futshane on Acoustic Bass will be joined by Zola Futshane on Vocals, Phumlani Mtiti on Saxophone, Neil Gonsalves on piano and Sbu Ncube on the Drums.
